Carol Of The Bells History

History Of Carol Of The Bells: "Carol Of The Bells" is also called "The Ukrainian Bell Carol" - Carol Of The Bells is based on a Ukrainian folk chant known in Ukrainian as "Shchedryk".

Some call Mykola Leontovych the composer of the song though you might consider him more of an arranger.
The English lyrics by Peter J. Wilhousky are copyrighted but the original musical composition is not. 

The song has a four-note melody motif (G F# G E in the key of E minor A# A A# G in the key of G minor).   It has been arranged many times for different genres / styles: classical, metal, jazz, rock, and pop.

Some well know versions / arrangements of Carol Of The Bells Include those by The Wolf Rock Band, The Trans Siberian Orchestra, Metalica,  The Mormon Tabernacle Choir,  Pentatonix,  The Robert Shaw Chorale, and many others.
